ABOUT UPTIGHT CLUB

UPTIGHT CLUB was formed with the aim of creating a club night that merged all of our musical tastes into one. We grew bored of nights being dominated by one type of music and of having to go to different clubs on different nights to get what we were looking for. Our bank managers, landlords and partners were also threatening to take action if this money squandering continued. Besides, we weren't getting any younger, or our moves on the dance floor any better. So, UPTIGHT CLUB was formed.

Having DJed over the years as country bumkins living in a backwater town, we set our sights on the "Big City", finally settling at The Woody in Glasgow's West End. We held the club there with varying success - some nights were packed, others had more DJs than dancers - but decided to call it quits, frustrated at the lack of a fixed slot in the month to hold the club: occasionally, we forgot which weekend or night we were DJing ourselves!

Barfly Glasgow offered us the opportunity to hold UPTIGHT CLUB once again. We took up their offer and held the club there until April 2008, our Oxjam fundraiser.
